Internet Presence
Just a few days ago I discovered the huloop about “Moptop Mavern” (a popular fashion blogger) and her involvement in scamming women out of thousands of dollars. I knew about her disappearance because I was a reader of her blog, I knew about the reasons and was genuinely concerned with her health. I was thinking, too bad she can’t make anymore money on her jewelry. I never looked too far into it because quit frankly I will never know exactly what she’s doing because I only know what she told me. I’m not curious enough about anyone online to know every detail about who they are. At the end of the day I don’t know them personally so I’ll never really know anyway. I looked into it and seen how most women were now going to be more cautious about who they gave their money to, as a result of her deceit.
It didn’t hit me until I started to think about the fact that I also sell jewelry online. Oh well would you look at that. Of course it doesn’t mean she’s responsible for my personal decline in sales. If that were to be. That’s ridiculous and not what I’m trying to. But her bad choices will contribute to a credibility to small business who sell their product online. The same way the decline in individual style has been watered downed based off of availability to fashion. For one small example once upon a time jump suits were not made for everyone and not meant for every day wear. It being sold in stores like Forever21 and H&M they then became for everyone. Not that there is something %100 wrong with that. It just makes it hard for the once simplistic and sexy jumpsuit to be just that.
My whole rant goes into how easy it is to be drowned out within the internet. When you do,say, and wear all the rights things it’s especially easy to come out on top. I ONLY feel comfortable even complaining about this, because in person I do not and probably will never have this problem. My presence in person is undeniable. Its just frustrating for me to sign into Tumblr and see so many be recognized for doing pretty much nothing. This may come off like I drank some hate juice this morning. But in all honesty there is every ounce of truth in my pout.
